The research group started in December of 1992 when Sunghee Lee came to Brown University after graduating with a Master’s Degree in Chemistry from the Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH). The following year John Bender, a graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College, joined the group. Eric Wheatley, a senior at Brown, also worked in the group in December of 1993 when the photo below was taken.
